Duties of State Board
- To advice the State Government on the Policy matters regarding Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
- To help maintain the equivalence of Standard in education provided in Secondary and Higher Secondary schools.
- To help maintain co-ordination of the policies of the nation as well as the State regarding Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
- To help maintain proper co-ordination in the Primary Education, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education as well as University.(Higher)
- To approve and sanction textbooks.
- To specify the financial policies regarding the functioning of the Board and take decisions about the same.
- To introduce and award scholarships, stipends, medals, prizes and awards and regulate conditions for them.
- To conduct general observation of the working of the Divisional Boards and supervise them. Conduct periodical observation of their accounts.
- Encourage research work in Educational innovations.
